May marked a milestone moment at MJ Engineering as we took delivery of our first Star sliding head lathe – a game-changing
investment in speed, scale, and precision.
As demand grows for high-spec components in high performance sectors, so too must our ability to deliver – fast, accurately, and at scale. To meet increasing volumes and tighter lead times for a high performance engine programme, we’ve introduced a Star SR-38 Type B sliding head lathe to our production facility.
Traditionally, these complex components were machined on fixed head machines. While effective, the setup and cycle times weren’t optimal for monthly call offs. With the SR-38 now in place, we’re expecting a step-change in efficiency, consistency, and throughput.
