Quality Assurance Lead Technician

The Quality Assurance Lead Technician is a key figure within our business, ensuring that products are delivered fully and on time, delegating and managing departmental workloads whilst resolving any problem areas that may arise.

 Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reporting to Quality Manager and Works Manager
  • Responsible for carrying out the inspections of components in accordance with the specification given in the route cards / customer drawings / instructions
  • Support the shop floor team with daily inspection and first offs.
  • Report any non-conformances to our Quality Manager and support root cause analysis so corrective action can be swiftly taken
  • Deputise for Quality Manager
  • Provide feedback for process or tooling improvements
  • Improve in-house inspection and implement changes where necessary
  • Provide support and management of product issues identified by customers and suppliers
  • Monitor and define process parameter to ensure process capability
  • Maintain records
  • Complete PPAP’s and FAIR documentary requirements
  • Be instrumental in managing external calibration of equipment 
  • Continually support improvements to company processes
  • Be fully compliant with the company Health and Safety policy and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation
  • There may be other duties allocated, or of a similar nature associated with this role, which may be reasonably from time to time be required by the relevant manager

 Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Engineering back ground with strong knowledge of Inspection process and procedures
  • Min 5 years’ experience in similar quality role within high precision engineering
  • Min 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Ability to review and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with ISO9001
  • Experience of FAIR requirements
  • Able to demonstrate experience of using hand-held metrology instruments (Vernier callipers, micrometre, plug gauges)
  • Able to demonstrate ability to program and operate precision CMM machines (Shadowgraph)
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of tolerances and surface finishing
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications such as Word / Excel
  • Demonstrate ability to work to ISO9001:2015
  • Good customer / supplier liaison essential

  • A positive, can-do attitude to overcome technical problems and receptive to new ideas
  • Ability to work within a high-pressured production environment with a willingness to go the extra distance to ensure that schedules are met

Contract Sales Engineer

This role will suit an individual with an engineering sales background who enjoys building customer relations, diversity within their day and problem solving.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Estimating and quoting against customer enquiries
  • Quoting & Pricing on current system for different customers
  • Populate & implement our new SOP system
  • Maintenance of live parts – Scanning of archive drawings
  • Calibration Control System – the implementation of an entire process for in-house data / gauges using Progress Plus
  • Develop relationships with customers
  • Delivery Transport / Despatch goods – control system

 Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in Engineering Manufacturing
  • Fully IT literate – specifically Excel, Access, ideally Progress Plus
  • Ability to review and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Conversant with production terms
  • Good customer liaison skills

CNC Turner

We are currently looking for a skilled CNC Turner preferably with Fanuc control & Manual Machining experience, and who definitely has a flexible approach to their workload.

Main tasks involved in an Engineering role would be –

  • Programming / Setting / Operating of Fanuc control CNC Lathe
  • Good understanding of customers drawings
  • Self-checking own work prior to Final Inspection
  • Reporting directly to the Works Manager

CNC Trainee / Apprentice Engineer

The right candidate would have already completed a basic engineering qualification and could demonstrate their level of competence.                                                                        We would then offer a full 2 year training program in the relevant disciplines in-house, using real life production jobs.                                                                                                   

Reporting into the Production Manager, and working in a small, close knit business, the company offers excellent opportunities to progress and rewards those who influence the success of the business as it continues to grow.

Due to the nature and size of the business, the right candidate would also be flexible and willing to assist in other areas of the business, as & when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The candidate will learn how to set, operate and program CNC lathes and CNC milling machinery* using a wide range of raw materials including plastics, aluminium, steel, exotics and working to tight tolerances.

*candidate should already have an understanding of manual engineering machinery.

  • Minimum requirement Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
